    Certifications

I am starting to get things prepared for certification. The plan was to offer the certification
process after the 3rd form. However, since we already shot the Monkey Staff, and it is
another form, we'll start the process after the Staff Form is out. Obviously, I have to weigh
the cost of my time, postage, etc. but it won't be that much. Those signed up for
certification will be the only ones who will have an open door to me. Again, I want you to
learn this, master this and teach this! If you sign up for certification, you must have
completed all the videos thus far. My concern is not the purchase, but you learning
everything to this point so I don't have to go over something you should have learned.

THE VIDEO COLLECTION - "Let me put this plainly. I want you to learn and master every
aspect in the Monkey art. But, I want you to learn it right. I'm not just putting the Monkey art
on video, I'm documenting the art on video. These videos will have everything you could
ever want to learn on the Monkey art and each video is so absolutely necessary," says
Matsuda. "These videos are for people who really want to learn, master and teach this art.
Skipping around and buying just Vol. 1, then Vol. 3, then Vol. 7 is not going to teach you
the art. The entire collection takes you through what you need to know. Getting just a piece
here and there will only teach you bits of the art. But I'm taking you all the way through
the complete Monkey art. You may think you know the basics, but guess what, there
is a lot more than you think. I've been taught this art for 30 years and I know every
detail of this art, but now you can too."

     Uniform

THE PANTS AND SHIRTS - The pants and shirts, which were made individually,
took a long time to make. Therefore, I'll probably only offer the t-shirts. Just too much
time on the pants and the shirt it wasn't cost-effective for us. Valley Martial Arts
has the screen so they will be offering the shirt soon. Sorry, it just takes too much
effort to make a bunch of uniforms.

 

     ALWAYS
     BEWARE

Monkey Kung Fu is a great art, but please don't be fooled by people who are trying
to pass themselves as teachers when they know so very little. Here's what to look for:
1. There is no such thing as yoga in Monkey
2. There is no such thing as extreme flexibility in Monkey
3. There is no such thing as standing on your staff in Monkey
     If you are going to spend precious years learning this art, be sure you are learning
it correctly and from someone who is certified by the U.S. Tai Shing Pek Kwar Assn.
If you see one or all of the above, my suggestion is to run for the exit.
